The church was built originally ca. 1867 as a Methodist church. It was closed in 1906 when the Methodist congregation moved to a new church in Station Road. This building became a Primitive Methodist Church. The church became redundant in 1966 and was subsequently bought by Sidney Wiles to become Barnes Healing Church.
