Barnes Old Cemetery is a disused cemetery on Barnes Common. There are just over 3,890 names in the Surrey Monumental Inscriptions Index. The burials date from ca. 1781 to the late 1950s

Report dated 1 Aug 1889 refers to consecration on 30 Dec 1854 of 2 acres (purchased for £10) and the later building of a chapel, mortuary & lodge. £2000 raised by public subscription. £1400 spent on chapel & landscaping. Nearly full by 1889. The cemetery is in the Ancient Parishan Ancient Parish is a Church of England parish which, until the 19th century, had both ecclesiastical and civil functions of Barnes St. Mary WSFHS CD10(The Surrey Burial Index - 2nd edition 2009) has burial records for Barnes St Mary from 1538 to 1865.
