WSFHS holds a copy of Alfred Bax’s mss for Suttton churchyard. The inscriptions were actually noted by Robert Garroway Rice which were taken in 1881.

Parts of the parish of Sutton St Nicholas were moved into new parishes: Sutton Christ Church(1888), Sutton St Barnabus(1884), Benhilton(1863) and parts of Benhilton were further moved to St Helier(1930); and parts of Christ Church to Belmont(1916).
